SELECTED GAMES.
One of the local chess knights who has proved a veritable thorn in the path of chess masters who have visited Cincinnati and given simultaneous exhibition, is Starr Walter, a stubborn, tenacious playing member of the Cincinnati Chess Club.
Mr. Starr Walter had the honor and glory of defeating Alexander Alekhine, chess champion of the world, when the latter exhibited in Cincinnati a couple of years ago. Last month the local chess expert held Isaac Kashdan, aspirant to the American chess championship title, to a draw, when Kashdan gave a simultaneous exhibition at the Hotel Sinton-St. Nicholas. In this contest the score, of which is appended, Starr Walter had the master licked in the latter stage of the game, but overlooked the winning move and the master succeeded in ekeing out a draw.
