Interzonal Tournament
The Russians are not having it all their own way in the Interzonal Tourney at Portoroz, although Petrosian and Tal hold the spotlight. Auerbach and Bronstein are further down and challenging them are Benko, Hungary, Olafsson, Iceland, Matanovic, Yugoslavia, Fischer, USA, and Larsen, Denmark. Bobby Fischer moved back into contention with a couple of wins.
The main objective of all contestants is to place in the first five in the final standing as only these will advance to next year's Challenger's tourney, out of which will come the official challenger for a world title match with M. Botvinnik in 1960.
