YOUNG CHESS STARS SURE OF THEMSELVES
The young generation of experts have developed a steadiness, combined with practical knowledge of the openings, which augurs well for their subsequent success. Playing for the Internationals in the league match with the Rice-Progressive Chess Club, G. Shainswit, the new Empire City champion of the Bronx, readily held his own against the veteran, Jacob Bernstein, former State champion. In the same match Jack Soudakoff of the Internationals held S. Richman to a draw.
The scores:
George Shainswit (white) vs. Jacob Bernstein (black)
