Arthur Dake of Portland, Oregon wound up his recent European trip by tying for first place (5-1 each) with the two famous masters, Rubinstein of Poland and Yates of England, in a tourney at Antwerp, Belgium. Six leading Belgian experts played once each against six foreign experts. Dake was the only undefeated player, winning four and drawing two. Yates won five straight, then lost to Sapira, who tied for fourth place with Winter of England, 3½-2½. Rubinstein also won five but lost to Koltanowski, Belgian champion. One of the games:
