Samuel Reshevsky will give a simultaneous exhibition at the M.S.C.A. annual meeting Feb. 23. Though usually noted for doggedness and fight rather than brilliance in tournament chess, Reshevsky can, when the occasion permits, turn out gems of what is often misconsidered chess in the grand manner. The Brazilian, Vasconcellos, was unfortunate enough to meet Sam when he was in the mood for fun. Played in the U.S. Open Championship at Boston, 1944. (Yes, Virginia, Boston used to house such big league affairs.)
