Game Selection
Former columnist A. R. Spicacci, in his column of April 4, 1935, states that for the first time a Connecticut man had won the title of chess champion of the Western Massachusetts and Connecticut Valley League. This was Arthur G. Powers of Hartford, who was tied with Karl Allured of Northamption. They played three games to break the tie. Powers won two of the three. Here is one of the games.
