A. chess team von Its tilth straight victory of the eason In a closely contested match vita the Easton chess team by the core of SVz-VA. Besides playing with mly four regulars, the local club lefaulted one board due to the non ippearance of one of the players. The local club will be very busy luring the next few months. Team natches have been scheduled with leading 2, Bethlehem 3, WUkes-Barre ind the Mercantile Library of Philalelphia pending.

Do not fail to make your reservations for the simultaneous exhibition, lo be given on Thursday evening, March 28. by Isaac Kashdan, of New York. Mr. Kashdan who is now making a tour of the west, writes us that he has recently given exhibitions in Binghamton, N. Y., Scranton and Philadelphia, Pa., Cincinnati, Ohio ind St. Louis, Mo. His total score is 128 won, 6 lost and 18 drawn. An exhibition given by H. V, Hesse at the Bethlehem chess club on Wednesday evening was very satisfactory end interesting to the spectators. Mr. Hesse also gave a blindfold exhibition. The record-breaking simultaneous exhibition given by Jose Capablanca at the Seventh Regiment Armory on this past Thursday a week ago was a great success. Playing against fifty boards, with four men at each board making a total of 200 men that he played against was Indeed a suc-ress for Capablanca won 28 games, drawing 16 and losing on 6. Not satisfied with only one exhibition by Isaac Kashdan In Cincinnati on the 11th of this month, where he played against 31, winning 26, losing 1 and drawing 4 games the chess fans arranged to have him give another exhibition the next evening against 17 opponents winning 16 of these and drawing one. Reading will be in Allentown this Thursday evening to play off the post-joned team match that was scheduled m the 12th between these two teams.

After which the troll posted a string of profanities, confirming there was never any genuine sentiment of “compassion” for Mr. Fischer, rather an intent to inflict further defamatory remarks.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.

The photograph of Bobby Fischer (above) from the March 02, 1956 The Tampa Times was discovered by Sharon Mooney (Bobby Fischer Newspaper Archive editor) on February 01, 2018 while gathering research materials for this ongoing newspaper archive project. Along with lost games now being translated into Algebraic notation and extractions from over two centuries of newspapers, it is but one of the many lost treasures to be found in the pages of old newspapers since our social media presence was first established November 11, 2017.
