Editor Alekhine Plays Fourth Draw With Kashdan Dr. Alexander Alekhine, of Paris, world champion, who is tied with Salo Flohr, of Czechoslovakia, for the lead in the International Chess Master's tournament at Central Hall, West minster, was held to a draw by Isaac Kashdan, champion of the Manhattan Chess club, of New York, in the sixth round.
It was the fourth meeting of the ex perts in tournament play and their iourtn draw. The American had the White side of a queen's pawn opening ana tne play followed the Gruenfeld variation. Frequent exchanges brought ine game into a Knight and Pawn ending wnich was drawn after thirty seven moves. Flohr failed to finish his game with victor .Buerger, or England. Dr. Alekhine also has an unfinished game pending and remains tied with Flohr for the lead. Kashdan is in third place, closely followed by Mir Sultan K.nan, or jjidia, and Dr. S. Tarta kower, of Poland. sultan Khan was the only winner in the sixth round.
He defeated W. Winter, of London, and also won his adjourned game with Miss Vera Men- chik, of Szechoslovakia, from the fifth round.
