Our selection for this week that of a game in which White lows himself to develop a cramped position later attempting to relieve himself by a sacrifice which we are able to prove unsound The position is interesting in' that Black obtains an early development commonly possible only 'to the first player Our selection for this week is that of a game in which White allows himself to develop a cramped position later attempting to relieve himself by a sacrifice which we are able to prove unsound The position is interesting in that Black obtains monly player (a) White’s opening allows Black to sUze the center The game as played provides an example of the Young theories in regards to development of the major pieces behind a pawn line which does double duty defence and offense ’ (b) It seem obvious that White will Castle on the Queen’s side yet we decided on this and the 15th move as waiting ones in order to allow him tn declare himself ’ I’ossibiy P-QR4 and QKt4 immediately would be more gressive (C) White throws down the gann iniur-k r-nn rnlpi't the ornffpred sacr without loss ot position but we accepted because of the weaknesses which we foresaw at the Masked Wonder’s Q133 and ‘QR3 as a result of the exchange of the Bishop (d) White has emerged with two passed pawns but a Rook against a Knight and a Bishop The passed pawns grow tu five! i O) A trap! “ Which the first player avoids Obviously KtxP is bad because of R-R6ch ! (f) Not R-QKtch because of K-Kt7 and we must lose a piece (g) Better would be B-B4 threatening KxP and Kt-Q5ch (h) orced or if K-Kt5 in order tndefend the Bishop then the MaskedWonder continues 49 P-B7! Il-B 50 P-Q6! winning ij Now to come back to the Qside and promote the QRP (j) And after about "0 more moves the Masked Wonder resigned Ben W McCready member of the Mount Vernon Chess Club who has moved to East Orange N J temporarily we understand has challenged us to a correspondence 'game This will make the fourth ’encounter of this type that wc are ‘engaged in at the present time i ' We wish to acknowledge a letter received recently from J Agricola Orestes who is spending the Summer in Europe To quote in part from his letter: "It is with regret that for a space I am leaving behind me the good U S A — and the privilege of reading your Chess Department in The Daily Argus which has given me a great deal of pleasure It is our regret that the address of such a cordial supporter of our efforts is unknown to us so leaving us enable to thank him directly for his rare brand of encouragement.

'til the world understands why Robert J. Fischer criticised the U.S./British and Russian military industry imperial alliance and their own Israeli Apartheid. Sarah Wilkinson explains:

Bobby Fischer, First Amendment, Freedom of Speech
What a sad story Fischer was,” typed a racist, pro-imperialist colonial troll who supports mega-corporation entities over human rights, police state policies & white supremacy.
To which I replied: “Really? I think he [Bob Fischer] stood up to the broken system of corruption and raised awareness! Whether on the Palestinian/Israel-British-U.S. Imperial Apartheid scam, the Bush wars of ‘7 countries in 5 years,’ illegally, unconstitutionally which constituted mass xenocide or his run in with police brutality in Pasadena, California-- right here in the U.S., police run rampant over the Constitution of the U.S., on oath they swore to uphold, but when Americans don't know the law, and the cops either don't know or worse, “don't care” -- then I think that's pretty darn “sad”. I think Mr. Fischer held out and fought the good fight, steadfast til the day he died, and may he Rest In Peace.
Educate yourself about U.S./State Laws --

After which the troll posted a string of profanities, confirming there was never any genuine sentiment of “compassion” for Mr. Fischer, rather an intent to inflict further defamatory remarks.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.

The photograph of Bobby Fischer (above) from the March 02, 1956 The Tampa Times was discovered by Sharon Mooney (Bobby Fischer Newspaper Archive editor) on February 01, 2018 while gathering research materials for this ongoing newspaper archive project. Along with lost games now being translated into Algebraic notation and extractions from over two centuries of newspapers, it is but one of the many lost treasures to be found in the pages of old newspapers since our social media presence was first established November 11, 2017.
