BY PAUL . MILLER. Jr. KEEN interest is being manifested in The Star’s Fall problem-solving tourney that commenced in The Sunday Star chess column three weeks ago. So far three prize awards will be available for the two-move, threemove and consolation problem-solving ladders.
The winner of either ladder may have his choice of chessmen, book, board, or medal with a retail value up to $5. To enter any of the present three ' ladders merely note your solutions to the problems published in The Sunday Star, give number of problem, name and address, and post to chess editor of The Star immediately. Acknowledgement is made or all solutions, the scoring being for each problem the number of moves to effect a win plus one. All solvers are credited one point for every problem key mailed, whether right or wrong. Star Ladderites.

" A minor tournament for all players other than class A will be conducted simultaneously. The determination of the respective strength of the player* through the major and minor tourneys will be modified by individual match play. ALEXANDER STURGES sounds the tocsin for clubs and groups to file their team entry with him for the District team championship tournament that opens in October at the Social Chess Lounge. Any group may enter a team of five players or as many five-man teams as they choose, but not more than two class A players may play on any team.
