Initiatives like The Gift of Chess have the potential to bring these benefits to a wider audience, particularly in areas where access to educational and recreational resources is limited.

CHESS Games— Problems” By Paul L Cromelin THE READER’S GAME WE might just as well pack up our men and retire to the home of Seymour Israel for he still is the only opponent left to us out of the eight who started Ho hum! That’s what comes from being too good One reaches the point at which it becomes hard to find opposition The game in detail: 1 P-K4 P-K4 2 Kt-KB3 Kt-KB3 3 KtxP KtxP 4 P-Q4 P-QB4 5 Q-K2 P-Q4 6 P-QB3 PxP 7 PxP 7 7' ’ The possibilities in Black’s seventh move look interesting.
Send in your vote forit by next Monday Chess Dinner The Westchester County Chess League will hold its annual dinner at Cromelin’s next riday Her-mann Helms Editor of the American Chess Bulletin will - be the1 guest of honor and no doubt‘will be persuaded to give a few examples of his skill over the board There will be a few — just a few — speeches Reservations are now being made with Robert J Reichert 173 Claremont Avenue Hillcrest 5871-W Indications are that between forty and fifty will attend Bring your pieces There'll be plenty of time to play after the dinner is over - Prize Awards With all due deference to the personality of Mr Helms probably the outstanding attraction of next riday’s dinner will be the awarding of prizes in the two County Championship series for 1931-32 In the -team matches White Plains emerged the victor by a score of and will re ceive the annual plaque In the Individual 'elimination tourney’ Max Hacker of Mount Vernon took all the honors to obtain a leg on a silver trophy donated by the Roger Smith Hotel of White Plains The two trophies will be on display during the evening MAX HACKER Chess players throughout ' the county are fairly well known t o each other due to the Interplay be-tween clubs continually going on.
Yet one so obscure as to be practically unknown- rises from our midst and overwhelms the lot of us We refer to Max Hacker an unknown quantity a few weeks ago until he entered the city championship play to come in second only to Dr Blasi Now history has repeated itself In his quiet way' wtihout benefit of panoply and clarion calls Hacker played his way through the Westchester County Individual play to take the crown or the second time he proved our nemesis in-tournament play besides winning from such strong players as George M Sharrard andDavid Hoffman of White Plains and C Dowd of Rye Below’ is given one of his games which provides a good example of his strong defensive tactics T'ETRO DEENSE L Mat Paul L Max C romclin JliH-kcr Cronwlin Harker Mhltu’ Black While BLack

'til the world understands why Robert J. Fischer criticised the U.S./British and Russian military industry imperial alliance and their own Israeli Apartheid. Sarah Wilkinson explains:

Bobby Fischer, First Amendment, Freedom of Speech
What a sad story Fischer was,” typed a racist, pro-imperialist colonial troll who supports mega-corporation entities over human rights, police state policies & white supremacy.
To which I replied: “Really? I think he [Bob Fischer] stood up to the broken system of corruption and raised awareness! Whether on the Palestinian/Israel-British-U.S. Imperial Apartheid scam, the Bush wars of ‘7 countries in 5 years,’ illegally, unconstitutionally which constituted mass xenocide or his run in with police brutality in Pasadena, California-- right here in the U.S., police run rampant over the Constitution of the U.S., on oath they swore to uphold, but when Americans don't know the law, and the cops either don't know or worse, “don't care” -- then I think that's pretty darn “sad”. I think Mr. Fischer held out and fought the good fight, steadfast til the day he died, and may he Rest In Peace.

After which the troll posted a string of profanities, confirming there was never any genuine sentiment of “compassion” for Mr. Fischer, rather an intent to inflict further defamatory remarks.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.

The photograph of Bobby Fischer (above) from the March 02, 1956 The Tampa Times was discovered by Sharon Mooney (Bobby Fischer Newspaper Archive editor) on February 01, 2018 while gathering research materials for this ongoing newspaper archive project. Along with lost games now being translated into Algebraic notation and extractions from over two centuries of newspapers, it is but one of the many lost treasures to be found in the pages of old newspapers since our social media presence was first established November 11, 2017.
