MARCIK A. WOOOWARD PASSF Hi many friends will be saddened to learn that Marcus A. Woodward passed aey from a heart attack after a short illness at his home in Sierra Madre. Nov, 26 fr. "Woodward has been for 30 year one of our most, loyal devotees of the ro'al aame. Amone his chess accomplishments were champion of Pittsburgh ard of Los Angeles and many times a valued team-match player for clnba in Los Angeles and Pasadena. He also served at one time as prrsident of th; Los An ge es Chess and Checker Ctuti. He moved to Southern California from Pittsburgh, Pa., m 1912. and had lived here since. He will be remembered not only a an accomplished chess player, but also as a brilliant attorney and ta ented artist. He is survived bv hi widow. Helen. and thre- sons, Marcus. George' and Forest.
