The event will b sponsored Jointly bv the United States Chess Federation and the New York state tness eaeranon. Arransementa to hold this principal American tourney of the year at Syracuse totelher with the annual New York State championship and class tournamenta were confirmed today between George Sturtis of Boston, president of the United States Chess Federation, and Paul G. Oiers of Syracuse, preaident of the New York State Chess Association. Th. two tournaments will take place concurrently at the grand ballroom of the Hotel Syracuse Aug. u-is Finsnclal arrangements for the Joint meeting will ba In charge of Frita Brleger. president of tha Queens Chess Club and treasurer of the State body. Management of the tourneys will be in the handa of Paul O. Giers.
