Alexandria! "For the Rest Your Life." Your correspondent of last week in this city spent most progressive The Rotary club invited me as guest to abet their weekly program. I gave them a talk on our favorite games followed by a blindfold demonstration of checkers. .Three numbered boards were secured so the entire roster could follow the play. They freely en tered the fray with suggested moves.
If said suggestions were losing or poor positional moves, retractions were permitted for a bet-'ter play. Names I recall from this liver club include: Teener Aal, club ' president, insurance; Joe Berg-; lund, club's best player, garage i owner; Bruce TerBush, sons;-leader, hotel proprietor; B. A. ' ' Vanasck, good bowler, mana-- ger Oman Supply; Aug. Stark, AAA; Vern Johnson, Coca Cola; C. Oteson, Star Journal (Walt's brother); G. Rob- ert Allison, visiting Rotary member from Fergus Falls, and Mr. Teterson, pharmacist. I had the pleasure of meeting Phil Noonan, North American Creameries. His enterprising hobbies, "Little Bit of Heaven," "Garden Center," "Noonan's Homes ?nd Garden," have given the city national fame of nur Odric Adams and Mr. Noonan before the. C B.S miKe and throwing the first howling hall. (Betcha Cedri.' never thought he'd crash a chess feature!) Otto Tessmpr, civic leader end president of Klwanln, gave me. an insight, to their civic pride and accomplishments.

C. M. Hardinge, chess expert, will give an exhibition of gambits at Minneapolis Chess and Checker club, 315 Lumber Exchange building, at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
He will play any gambit requested by the audience, he said.
